Earthed
At first glance Earthed is like every other Mtn bike video out there, it shows short clips of extreme mountain bike action over a background of music. There is no narration, no plot or story. Scenes are broken up by subtitles that name the location and race.

That being said Earthed is unlike most of the Mtn Bike videos that I have seen. While most the videos focus on footage of free riding exploits Earthed is more race oriented. It has lots of down hill and 4 cross races. Generally the movie shows short clips and has way more wrecks then most videos. It has a few short statements from riders, most I couldn’t understand and really didn’t care to. The music is much more agreeable to my tastes, less in your face angry rock and rap and more classic rock. Has Zeppelin and AC-DC so I had no problem turning the volume way up.

While most of the videos have a mix of various locales and riding styles, Earthed mostly stays on racetracks. You won’t see Huge 100 foot drops, wooden beam tracks, and trials riding. You will see lots of technical downhill with riders bouncing through rock gardens on a downhill track. You will see more speed, since most of the footage is from actual races the riders are working their asses maintaining speed on the downhill courses. The 4 cross was really interesting since I don’t know much about it. Watching the riders vie for position on the small jumps and high speed turns I realized its like a miniature motorcross race.

Of course for some reason Earthed has the obligatory mini bike race scene. I can’t figure out what this is doing here, I mean yeah they are funny, but why does every mtb bike movie seem to have a mini bike race. Earthed also has some dirt jumping with BMXers which is cool to watch. Something that I had never seen before was an All Terrain wheel chair race. Guys riding fully suspended wheel chairs it was really cool, but only on the video for a few seconds.
